Match Report – SCC v VCC: 26th June 2011

Well, forgive my sketchy report comrades. This will evolve as i break down the scorecard and ask around for memories. Let’s begin first of all by reporting our team as:

VCC win by 3 wickets as: VCC: 203 – 7 SCC: 127 all out

SCC v VCC warm up 20/20

Well, comrades, It was well worth undertaking. The purpose of the match was to draw up to two teams from amongst ourselves (plus VCC supplement) to prepare for our first full match of the season. We trolled along to the Hampstead Heath extension fields near Golders Green and settled on the least sodden wicket. The rain had recently been falling and there had been some doubt, but for the 20/20 itself, the rain mostly held off.

Two teams were titled Karenina and Zhivago and were captained by Marx-B Blackledge and Tim Graham, Cobramski. I think we managed a total of 15 players and after a detailed yet nearly comprehendable set of rules were drawn up we were off. In the field first were Zhivago, myself included under Marx-Bs tutorship. Scores were, TBC

The end result was of course great fun but also, Team Karenina, under Cobramski (Tim Graham) won by TBC

There then followed a splendid drinking session at the local pub, The Old Bull and Bush!
